Is This Our Future? Traffic Jam in China Goes into 10th Day

24 Aug

a 62 – mile long traffic jam in China has stretched into the 10th day and shows no signs of letting up.

Here are some photos (credited to All Voices).

Would you want to breathe this air?

There’s even a BOAT traffic jam which is 40 km long!

This is why we need to start building mass transit, everywhere.

i wonder why the northern europe is a bit different and they use the public transportation and the bikes more than other parts of the world. could it be the older culture creating a more urban attitude in the cities? or maybe it is just the infrastructure (dense cities, small streets) that doesn’t allow so many cars.
some say that old money keep the cities pretty and human. i don’t like this idea much, i hope it is rather good (civic) education.
